Charges framed against four for Palsora girl’s rape, murder

Presiding over the special court for crime against women, additional district and sessions judge Anshu Shukla on Friday framed charges against all four accused, including a woman, who was the alleged mastermind, for kidnap, rape and then murder of an 11-yearold Palsora girl.

The accused are Sunita alias Billy, 30, and Bhagat Singh alias Manga, 25, both residents of Palsora, along with two drug addicts — Anirudh Kumar alias Jigra, 18, and Rajkumar alias Raja, 20, both residents of Ram Darbar. The trial in the case would begin on May 6.


The case had made headlines in December last year when the girl’s body was found in a gunny bag near Palsora on December 1.

According to police, the victim was kidnapped from Palsora, Sector 56, on November 27 by Anirudh and Rajkumar. The police claimed that the duo had kept the minor in the dense forest area near Sector 52 for at least three days and sexually abused her before killing her on November 29 night and packed the body in a gunny bag.

The recovery of the girl’s body on December 1 led to protests in the city against police inaction and the girl’s family had even refused to cremate her.

The police managed to crack the case after nearly a month with the arrest of Anirudh and Rajkumar who were arrested by the SAS Nagar police in some other case. Based on their disclosure, the police then arrested Sunita and Bhagat Singh.


Sunita: She was the alleged mastermind behind the kidnapping of 11-year-old girl, owing to dispute with the victim’s family. As per police, the initial plan was only to kidnap the child, but Sunita had asked the co-accused Bhagat to murder her considering protests and manhunt launched by the cops following her kidnapping.

Bhagat Singh: He had hired two drug addicts, Anirudh and Rajkumar, to kidnap the girl. She was taken to different places in an auto-rickshaw on November 27, the day she was kidnapped. Rs 30,000 each by Bhagat for kidnapping the victim. The two were drug addicts had allegedly murdered the girl after raping her for four days. The duo saw the girl roaming in the market on November 27 and took her to the forest area. They had kidnapped the girl after consuming a heavy dose of smack, the police said.

After keeping her hostage and raping her, the accused had taken the victim to the Dussehra Ground in SAS Nagar on November 29, where they allegedly strangulated her before stuffing her in a gunny bag. The body was dumped in the forest area in Sector 52. The two have a criminal background and have been committing thefts to satiate their desire for drugs.
