The Chandigarh administration has relieved Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Tanvi Garg, holding the charge of managing director of Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and tourism director. She has been transferred to Port Blair.
Recently, the ministry of home affairs (MHA) had directed the UT to relieve Garg, a 2009 batch Arunachal Pradesh–Goa– Mizoram–Union Territories (AGMUT) IAS officer.
The Chandigarh administration had, in the past, received flak for giving extensions to AGMUT-cadre officers, despite the ministry repeatedly asking it to relieve them after completion of their respective terms.
Meanwhile, the MHA has approved name of K Narasimha, 1991-batch AGMUT officer, for transfer to Chandigarh.
