City lads in quarters

The boys team of hosts Chandigarh beat Rajasthan 3-0 in their last league encounter to enter the quarterfinals of the 41st Junior National Volleyball Championship, being organised at Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, and Sector-7 Sports Complex, on Friday.

In the other boys league matches, Karnataka beat West Bengal 3- 0, and Delhi also thrashed Telangana with the scoreline. Also, Uttarakhand defeated Odisha 3-0.

In the girls league matches, Maharashtra got the better Odisha 3-0, while Andhra Pradesh brought down Himachal Pradesh 3-1.

The match between Goa and Delhi almost went the down the wire, with the former eventually winning 3-2.

In the other two matches, Tamil Nadu beat Jharkhand, and West Bengal defeated Madhya Pradesh with the identical scoreline of 3-0.
