Shrishti Asthana, a Class-8 student of Sri Guru Harkishan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 38, has bagged Bal Shree Award in creative scientific innovations.

Bal Shree Award is the highest honour of the country conferred on children in the age group of 9-16 years in four areas - creative performance, creative art, creative writing and creative scientific innovation - by the President of India. Only eight children have been honoured with this award in creative scientific innovations in the country.

Shrishti first got selected at local level and then she cleared the national level test recently held at the National Bal Bhavan in which qualifying students from different zones participated.

A committee of experts and resource persons drawn from various streams were identified to administer the tests and children are finally selected.

Last year, Shristi Asthana also bagged the CSIR Innovation Award for school children. Shristi said it was a great honour for her.
