High drama prevailed at a hotel in Attawa, when a group of seven people pelted stones and hurled abuses against another group on Friday allegedly over a land dispute.

Bal Krishan, a Sector-41 resident, alleged that Kesar Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Parvinder Singh, Labh Singh, Davinder Singh and a woman forcibly entered GK President Hotel in Attawa on October 12 and attacked him.

The complainant alleged that the six of them started pelting stones and bricks, besides hurling abuses.

The complainant added that the group also attacked his friends Mandeep Singh, Aman Rana, Rakesh and Sandeep Kumar, all employees of the hotel.

Bal Krishan said the group broke the windowpanes of the hotel and threatened them with dire consequences. They received injuries and were admitted to GMSH-16. The police sources cited personal enmity and land dispute as the reason behind the incident.

The police said they were verifying the reason behind the immediate provocation.

A case under Section 323 (rioting), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 452 (trespass to hurt) was registered. SHO Sector 36 police station Bhupinder Singh said raids were being conducted in and around the city to arrest the alleged accused.
