A total of around 80% seats have been filled in 39 government schools on the final day of admissions to Class 11, here on Wednesday.
There are around 12,500 seats and the number is expected to go up to 14,000 after the 15% increase that is to be made in the science stream in various schools.
Education department official Sunil Bedi who is looking after the admission process said, “There are around 15,000 students who had applied for the admissions and out of them around 13,500 are being expected to have deposited the fee. We will give out the official figures in a day or two, as the calculations are still on.”
The schools will commence from July 4 and the second counselling will begin with form submission for change of school or stream from July 16 and go on till July 18.
