Siddhartha Yaddanapudi, a science stream student of Yadavindra Public School, SAS Nagar, topped the tricity by securing 95.75% marks in the CISCE Class-12 results for 2013-14 session, which were declared late evening, here on Saturday.
The day however was marred by the unprecedented delays and confusions. As per the circular of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the result was to be out by 3 pm on Saturday on the council’s website.
However, students and school authorities had to wait for several hours to access the result on the website.
Since Siddhartha had Maths as optional subject, he qualified in both medical as well as nonmedical stream.
After him, Aarush Gupta of St Xavier’s, Sector 44 , got 90% marks in the non-medical stream.
Siddhartha, in fact, broke at least last four years’ record in terms of highest marks in the tricity in CISCE results.
Last year, a commerce student of St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, Chandigarh, Riya Sharma, was overall topper in the tricity with 91.25% marks. In 2012, 2011 and 2010, the highest score in CISCE Class 12 in tricity was 94.5% 93.5% and 95%, respectively.
YPS students also topped the commerce stream. The tricity has three CISCE schools — St Xavier’s, Sector 44, Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, and Yadvindra Public School, SAS Nagar — which have Class 12. YPS, SAS Nagar emerged the overall winner.
