Slamming INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala for claiming that he was sent to jail for providing jobs to 3,200 unemployed youths, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday said the former chief minister was convicted of giving jobs to the wrong youths.
Hooda said this while campaigning at Garhi Sampla Kiloi, from where he is seeking re-election for a third time.
Making an impassioned appeal to his supporters in Jind, Chautala, who is out on bail on medical grounds, had recently said that he had been punished for recruiting unemployed youths.
Hooda said, “If Chautala’s claim is taken seriously, he was sent to jail for 10 years for giving jobs to 3,200 youths. Since I have provided jobs to 70,000 youths, by that token, I should be hanged to death.”
Training guns at the opposition, Hooda said they had a divisive agenda. He claimed that the Haryana model of development was better than the Gujarat one.
