Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has given a nod for carpeting the roads in Kalka constituency and approved an estimated budget of Rs 52 crore for the same. This was revealed by Kalka MLA Latika Sharma, who met the officials of public works department (PWD) at chief engineer Rakesh Malhotra's office.
As many as 90 roads had been identified, extending up to 200 km in Kalka constituency, covering all four blocks -Pinjore, Kalka, Raipur Rani and Morni- which were in dire need of repair. A detailed report on it was submitted to the state government recently.
While giving more details in Friday's meeting, Sharma said, "The government has decided to repair the existing roads that are in bad condition. The work of constructing new roads will be taken later. The chief minister has given approval to our proposal and the tender will be invited shortly to carry forward the project. I also took up the issue of constructing a bridge over Tangri river in Raipur Rani, which will connect Toda-Natwal-Barwala and benefit more than 15 villages.
