CM participates in Lohri festival function at Jawalmukhi

Chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Tuesday evening attended the Lohri festival organsied by a non- governmental organisation 'Vikas Avm Chetna Manch Jawlamukhi' at Jawlamukhi town of Kangra district.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said Lohri was one of the pious and important festivals of north India, signifying the end of winter season.

He wished the people of state a happy and prosperous Lohri. President of the forum OP Vashisht honoured the chief minister and detailed him on the various activities of the organisation.
The chief minister also released a book titled “Tandulprasthium” on the occasion. The book is written by Balwant Kumar Sharma of Baleta village in Hamirpur district.

A cultural programme was also held on the occasion where Himachali folk singers Karnail Rana and Shri Anuj Sharma regaled the audience. MLAs Ajay Mahajan and Yadvender Goma, former MLAs Anita Verma and Yog Raj, chairman, Freedom Fighter Welfare Board Sushil Rattan were also present on the occasion.
