The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday trained guns on chief minister Virbhadra Singh accusing the government of amending Section 118 for the seventh time to favour non-Himachalis.
BJP state spokesperson Ganesh Dutt said it was the same Congress which had floated a propaganda of 'Himachal on Sale' during the BJP regime, but now it has proposed the amendment in the Section 118 for the seventh time.
"This is an effort of the government to favour non-Himachalis," said he, in a press statement here.
He said the Congress had been misleading the people of the state on the name of section 118. He also pointed out the revenue ministry is with Kaul Singh Thakur, but he has made no statement to amend the section. The ministers holding other portfolios have been issuing statement to amend the Section 118, said he.
"The government should also clear whether Kaul Singh has the revenue ministry or not and if he has then the statement and initiation should be from his side," added Dutt.
He also sought government to come out with the explanation that why the Section is being amended for the seventh time and how it would benefit the people of the state.
BJP seeks details of violations
The BJP asked the government to furnish details of the industrialists who have not started the work even after owning huge chunk of land in the state. BJP spokesperson Ganesh Dutt said there were some reports that some industrialists were using the land for real estate purpose, which is a violation of the industrial policy.
