Lashing out at the Congress, Indian National Lok Dal senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala on Tuesday said farmers of the state were pushed to the brink by the ruling party by using land acquisition policy as a tool to grab their fertile land.
Chautala said this while addressing public and party workers at Rai assembly segment of Sonepat district.
In an attempt to woo electorate, Abhay Chautala, after promising Scooty to girls, claimed to waive debt of `2 lakh on farmers and others, if his party is voted to power in forthcoming state polls.
Luring the farming community, he said peasants would be provided electricity connections for tubewells for free and INLD would ensure round-the-clock power supply to their fields to save their crops.
On employees, he said the state government employees who have been agitating and want pay anomalies removed would be granted salary on a par with their Punjab counterparts.
INLD state president Ashok Arora gave a do or die call to party workers for registering party’s victory in the ensuing polls. Party’s Rai constituency candidate Inderjit Dahiya was present along with several other party workers on the occasion.
