Bollywood actor-turned-politician and the Congress party’s star campaigner Raj Babbar held a roadshow here on Tuesday to canvass support for the party’s candidate, Naveen Kedia, ahead of the state assembly polls.

Addressing a large crowd, he claimed the Congress party led government had done a lot for the state and Sirsa as well during the past ten years. “The only true well wisher of the people is the Congress, while the Bhartiya Janata Party is a pack of opportunists and tainted leaders who are capable of betraying the public anytime,” he said.

Praising the Hooda government, Babbar said the Congress had launched many public welfare schemes and ensured Haryana was largely free from violence. “Senior citizens in Haryana are getting the largest pension benefits as compared to any other state in the country. Based on its performance on providing social security to residents the Congress is set to form the government in the state for the third time in a row,” Babbar added.

He appealed to the town’s residents to cast their vote in favor of Kedia for the betterment of Sirsa.
