Cong workers holding protest against Majithia arrested in Jalandhar

Congress workers holding protest against Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia arrested in Jalandhar. The protestors were marching toward Bath Castle, the venue of the NRI sammelan.

Congress workers holding protest against Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia arrested in Jalandhar. The protestors were marching toward Bath Castle, the venue of the NRI sammelan.

Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Khaira, former ministers- Amrjeet Samra, Ch Jagjit Singh, Ch Santokh Singh, Joginder Singh Mann- alongwith district presidents Rajinder Beri, Jagbir Brar have been arrested. The workers are presently detained at Commissioner's office amidst tight police security.

Meanwhile, over 1000 Congress workers were not allowed to move outside the Congress Bhawan here. These workers were to move towards the Bath Castle, venue of the NRI Sammelan, to mark protest against Bikram Singh Majithia and the state government.


The opposition Party in Punjab, Congress, intensified its protest in the state after Wrestler-turned-druglord Jagdish Singh Bhola on Jan 6 claimed that Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia was involved in the drug racket recently busted by the state police.
