A faction of Congressmen on Wednesday staged protest against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa outside a hotel on Ferozepur Road.

High drama prevailed for almost an hour as protesting Congressmen waited for Bajwa to come to the hotel for a scheduled interaction with the media.

The guards along with the PPCC president tried to intimidate the protestors which added to their ire and they refused to give way to his vehicle. The cops on duty played an important role in diffusing the situation.

Moreover, the PPCC president only refused to answer queries of mediaperson of adding that he had only invited selective media for interaction over lunch. He refused to entertain the mediapersons who had not been invited which resulted in a walkout by them.

The protest against PCC president Partap Singh Bajwa has failed to die down ever since he elevated Gurpreet Singh Gogi as the DCC president of Ludhiana on October 26.

The Congress workers led by the DCC vice-predident Maninder Singh and five block presidents have started a signature campaign for removal of Bajwa from his post.
