Congress will form govt in state again: Tanwar

Ashok Tanwar

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Tanwar has said the party would form government for third consecutive time in the state after the assembly elections.

Tanwar was accorded a warm welcome by party workers at Karan Palace when his ‘Haryana Jodo Yatra’ that started from Chandigarh on Tuesday morning, reached Ambala.

Addressing workers from his SUV, Tanwar claimed that his party would win the forthcoming assembly elections. He asked the workers to explain to people the tremendous development done in the state during Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s tenure.

He added that during his yatra, he would explain to people the policies and programmes of the Congress.

The aim of the opposition parties was to acquire power by dividing people and making false promise, he said, adding that the BJP’s four yatras on the same day from different locations was a move to divide the people of the state.

Stating that his yatra would unite people of the state, Tanwar said the NDA has come to power on the basis of a misleading campaign and after only two months the people were feeling cheated.

Tanwar urged the party workers to attend ‘Vijay Sanklap Maharally’ at Panipat on August 24.

Prominent Congress leaders who were present on the occasion included former minister Nirmal Singh, former MLA Arjun Singh, youth leader Himmat Singh and mayor Ramesh Mal.
