The construction work of the flyover at the Samrala Chowk was resumed on Monday.
The project was put on hold by the concerned construction company around two years ago.
Meanwhile, police have also chalked out the diversion plan to the manage traffic.
However, the work was hanging fire for the last two years as the matter regarding the construction of the national highway from Panipat to Jalandhar was in the Supreme Court.
The apex court had cleared the matter and gave March 30 as the next deadline for the competition of the national highway.
After the construction work was resumed on Monday, traffic from Chandigarh to Ludhiana was also diverted.
It is worth mentioning that due to incomplete construction work of the flyover at the national highway, traffic remains disrupted most of the time at the busy Samrala Chowk.
According to police, traffic coming from the Chandigarh Road to Ludhiana side will turn to left from Samrala Chowk and will take a U-turn from the cut near the petrol pump about 2km from the Samrala Chowk.
