Incidents of Chandigarh cops being at the receiving end are just refusing to die down. In the latest incident, two cops were allegedly thrashed and stabbed in Bapu Dham colony on Wednesday evening. While the police managed to arrest two of the accused on Thursday, the others are still at large.

The police booked Rajinder alias Radhey, Raju, Kusum and others involved in the incident for rioting and obstructing government servants from performing their duty. Dhani Ram, arrested for attack the cops with a baton, was nabbed from near Sector 26 and the police are hopeful of arresting the others in the case.

The SHO of Sector 26 police station Anokh Singh said constables Surinder Kumar and Anil Kumar had gone for a "routine verification" to the Bapu Dham slum area when they were attacked. When the two cops reached the house of Radhe and Raju, the duo tried to flee.

The cops and the two accused had a verbal spat, following which the police personnel were attacked. The accused were joined in the attack by their relatives as well.

While trying to escape from the spot, Radhe and Raju stabbed the cops, who were rushed to Government Multi Speciality Hospital, sector 16. They were later discharged after treatment.

The police said Radhe has six criminal cases registered against him at different police stations. A countrymade pistol was recovered from his possession in January this year.
