The Haryana Lokhit Party supremo and sitting MLA from Sirsa, Gopal Kanda on Friday said `56 crore have been provided to the city municipal council in the last five years, but they have not spent a single penny on development of Sirsa.

The Haryana Lokhit Party supremo and sitting MLA from Sirsa, Gopal Kanda on Friday said `56 crore have been provided to the city municipal council in the last five years, but they have not spent a single penny on development of Sirsa.

Addressing a public meeting, Kanda lashed out at the officials of city municipal council. “If they want, every ward of the city could have been completely developed because they have enough money for development works. But due to MC functionaries’ anti-public and corrupted thinking, locals are still fighting for basic amenities.”

Sirsa assembly segment has suffered on the development front in the past five years. As there were three power centres — Gopal kanda, who was elected as an Independent MLA and become a minister, the then Congress MP Ashok Tanwar and Indian National Lok Dal that had control over zila parishad as well as the MC all these years.

Kanda promised to the people that if the HLP came to the power it would developed Sirsa as a Metro city.

“I have a dream to provide home and food to every destitute person and below poverty line people,” Kanda said.

The new registries of the plots has been blocked by state government and corruption is rising, Kanda said, adding that the HLP would end this corrupt policies and start the new registries with immediate effect across the states, if voted to power.

The irregular colonies would be regularised and basic amenities would provide to people, he added.
