The bodies of a young couple were found at their Ram Darbar house on Wednesday. According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest the 30-year-old man ended his life before allegedly strangling his wife but the motive has not been ascertained yet. However, the police have not ruled out suicide and said the exact cause would become clear only after the postmortem.
The bodies were later identified as that of Shalu, 27, and her husband, Sandeep Kumar. The woman’s lifeless body was lying in her room while that of her husband was found hanging from a ceiling fan in another room of the house. However, no suicide note was found at the scene.
Sandeep worked as a driver and had been jobless for the past few months, as a result of which the couple used to fight bitterly with each other.
The bodies were discovered early in the morning by Sandeep’s brother, who lived in the same house.
The police were informed and the two were taken to GMCH, Sector 32 where both were declared brought dead.
But Shalu’s relative claimed that she was killed. They told the police that Sandeep used to often beat her up after they used to have verbal spats. The police sources said investigations into the case were on.
