CRPF jawan killed, 3 hurt in Jammu accident

A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed and three injured when a truck they were travelling in rolled down on the road on Jammu-Poonch road near Akhnoor, police here said today.

A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed and three injured when a truck they were travelling in rolled down on the road on Jammu-Poonch road near Akhnoor, police here said Sunday.

A jawan identified as constable Jay Ranjit Kumar of 72 Battalion CRPF died on the spot when a truck carrying ration from Jammu to Sunderbani overturned late last evening near Tanda in Akhnoor, the police said.

They said the driver while negotiating a sharp turn, lost the control over the vehicle.

The injured CRPF jawans were identified as Shashi Pal, Kamal Singh and Surinder Garg. The injured were admitted in the Military Hospital while one of them was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, police added.
