Haryana chief secretary SC Choudhary on Tuesday expressed regret at the words that hurt the sentiments of his IAS officer colleague Pradeep Kasni. A fresh controversy was triggered after Choudhary sent a series of text messages to Kasni on late Sunday night. Kasni said the messages were nerve-racking and intimidating. "I demand an apology from the chief secretary," he had said on Monday.
The chief secretary, however, said Kasni was a dear colleague and what he texted him was in sheer fun. Choudhary then sent another text message to Kasni on Tuesday saying he regretted any word which has hurt his sentiments. "Dear Pradip, u know I treat u like my younger brother. It was said in a lighter vein but it seems part of my message has hurt your feelings. If that is the case I regret those words, which have hurt your sentiments. We were and remain friends," the chief secretary said.
Kasni had earlier objected to a series of text messages sent by the chief secretary on Sunday night. The message read: "Congrats. I'm happy you have created headlines in media. God bless u. Lage raho bhai, everyone has hopes on the rising stars. Good night. Please celebrate your new status of being a celebrity. But agar maa ka doodh piya h to mere saare msg press ko dikha dena. And the last one, u didn't respond to my calls on your cell since morning. I wish you success in last few years of ur carrier (sic)."
