CTU bus driver attacked over objecting to parking of autos

A driver of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) was allegedly attacked by 10 auto drivers after he objected to their parking the three-wheelers in a no-parking zone of the Sector 43 inter-state bus terminus (ISBT).

A driver of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) was allegedly attacked by 10 auto drivers after he objected to their parking the three-wheelers in a no-parking zone of the Sector 43 inter-state bus terminus (ISBT).

Police have registered a case against the attackers who are yet to be identified.
Police said the victim, Surjit Singh, was attacked by the men armed with rods and sharp-edged weapons. Surjit was injured and taken to Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32. The accused fled after assaulting the bus driver.

A case of rioting and assault on public servant under sections 147, 148, 323, 332, 353, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Sector 36 police station.
