In a development in the complaint filed by the legendry athlete Milkha Singh regarding his fake profile on social networking website Facebook and also a fake website using his name, the UT cyber cell has tracked the IP address.
Sources in the cyber cell said on examination of the complaint, IP addresses of two different companies have been received, one of TATA and other Airtel.
Speaking to HT, UT cyber cell head DSP Rajesh Kalia said, "We have received details from TATA, but are still to receive details from Airtel. Once through we shall get the address and other details of the fake users and then will proceed in the case."
Local lawyer Terminder Singh on behalf of Milkha Singh had in mid-February filed a complaint at the public window at the police headquarters, Sector 9.
The lawyer on behalf of Singh had sought registration of a case under the Information Technology Act and sections 420, 467 and 468 of the IPC against unidentified persons who have created the fake website, milkhasingh.co.in.
The complaint further mentioned that the unidentified accused were well aware of the fact that the complainant was a renowned personality. The accused in a well-planned criminal conspiracy created the website in order to use the Milkha's name to achieve financial gains and benefits for themselves.
