While living thousands of miles away in Melbourne, Australia, three young and adventurous IT professionals were holding brainstorming sessions about opening a food destination in the city.


Ashutosh Joshi from Rajpura; Sukhbir Teja from Sirsa and Mandeep Gill aka Josh Baabazz Gill from Dera Bassi, shared their story at the inauguration of their venture, Chocodate in Sector 36, Chandigarh, on Tuesday, terming the place as a perfect destination to go on a special date with your partner or family members.

Chocodate offers the quintessential chocolate cake apart from colourful cupcakes, fresh pastries, cheesy pasta, crunchy salads, hot soups, sausage rolls, sandwiches and burgers. At their base kitchen in SAS Nagar, there is also prepared freshly baked breads, priced at R40 for 400 gm.

While chocolate, mango and chocolate-walnut muffins are priced at R45 each; jam filled, cinnamon and dark chocolate doughnuts are priced at R35 each, and lemon, mango, strawberry, chocolate, blueberry and red velvet cupcakes are for R40 each. There are also chocolates to be tasted — be it truffles, rum chocolates, cointreau chocolates or brandied apricot chocolates, priced at R30 a piece.

Pastries, in a host of flavours, start at R35 and go upto R50 a slice.
