DAV College student injured after being shot at by unidentified man

A 22-year-old youth was injured after an unknown person fired gun shot at him, following a verbal spat over parking issue at CITCO café parking in Sector 10 here on Wednesday. Police said the accused sped off from the spot, but his Polo car's number (PB10 D0332) had been noted down.

A 22-year-old youth was injured after an unknown person fired gun shot at him, following a verbal spat over parking issue at CITCO café parking in Sector 10 here on Wednesday. Police said the accused sped off from the spot, but his Polo car's number (PB10 D0332) had been noted down.

The injured has been identified as Praveen Kumar, a student of BA (second year) at DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh. He was rushed to the hospital by his friends, who also informed the police.

Police said, "The two, while crossing each other's cars entered into an altercation, after which the accused shot at him with his .32 bore revolver."

Inspector Dalbir Singh, station house officer, Sector 3 police station, said they had recovered two shells from the spot and have sent them to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) here.

A case has been registered under Section 307, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and 25-54-59 of the Arms Act.
