Defacement continues to go unchecked in SAS Nagar as the administration as well as the municipal corporation authorities have failed to initiate action in this regard.

Posters and advertisements dot every nook and cranny of the town. Most of the walls of SAS Nagar be it in residential areas or commercial places, street light poles and even the newly installed unipoles as well as foot overbridges are being used freely by residents as well as advertisers to paste posters or advertisements.

Even though student election is months away, a poster war among various student bodies has already begin. They can spotted anywhere in the town.

The blatant defacement of various buildings in SAS Nagar contradicts the claims of officials. Issuing repeated notices or imposing penalty on violators have failed to act as deterrent and defacement continues unabated.

“Defacement of public authority will not be allowed and notices will be issued to those involved in the act. If need be, we will take strict action,” SAS Nagar deputy commissioner Varun Roojam said.
