A meeting of all district education officers (DEOs) was held at the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) office at Phase 8 here on Tuesday in view of the upcoming Class 10 and 12 board exams.
The meeting was chaired by PSEB chairperson Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal.
In a significant development, the chairperson has directed all DEOs to videograph the entire examination to check any cheating by students. The DEOs were also directed that in case any teacher was found guilty of helping students to cheat, strict action should be initiated against him and it should also be communicated to the board.
Dhaliwal said, “Our endeavour is to provide best possible environment for Class 10 and 12 students appearing in the exams. Officials have been directed to ensure strict environment so that no cheating is reported from anywhere.”
Also, all education officers were directed that they could not make any change in exam duty without prior permission of the board; in case they were forced to change the duty, the board should be intimated immediately.
