Finally, there was respite for people as 14 flights operated from the city on Thursday, though trains still continued to be delayed while one train was cancelled.
Despite clear weather, the New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express continued to run behind schedule. It chugged in late at the city station two hours and 15 minutes.
Long-route trains remained affected on Thursday as well. The Howrah-Chandigarh train that had been running late more than a week was cancelled. The Unchahar Express, which operates between Allahabad and Chandigarh, chugged in 16 hours late at the city railway station, and was delayed by four hours and 30 minutes during its departure from the city.
While the Lucknow-Chandigarh Express chugged in two hours and 15 minutes behind schedule, which delayed its departure by two hours.
The Sadbhavana Express, which runs between Chandigarh and Lucknow, was delayed by eight hours and 10 minutes. At the time of departure, the train was delayed by nine hours.

Fourteen of 15 flights operated from the city airport on Thursday, courtesy clear sky. The lone flight that was cancelled was SpiceJet's flight on Chandigarh-Delhi route.
