Deswal shifted, KK Sindhu is city’s new police chief

The state government has transferred Gurgaon police commissioner SS Deswal, joint commissioner of police Alok Mittal and several other IPS officers up to the rank of inspector general (IG) to other departments.

The state government has transferred Gurgaon police commissioner SS Deswal, joint commissioner of police Alok Mittal and several other IPS officers up to the rank of inspector general (IG) to other departments.

Deswal has been posted as additional director general of police (ADGP), CID. He is likely to succeed CID’s director general PV Rathee, who will retire in January 2012.

Commissioner of Ambala/Panchkula KK Sindhu will now take over as the police commissioner of Gurgaon.

Mittal has been promoted as IG, Rohtak. He will replace V Kamaraja who has been given the charge of Railways and Commando.

The state government on Friday also shifted the IGs of all four police ranges, including Rohtak, Hisar and Karnal, and Faridabad police commissioner.

Karnal range IG AK Dhul has been posted as the Ambala/Panchkula commissioner of police. Dhul will be replaced by IG, crime, Balbir Singh. IG Shatrujeet Kapoor of Hisar range has been posted as CP, Faridabad and will replace PK Aggarwal who has been posted as IG, CID.

AS Chawla, who has returned from central deputation, has been posted as IG, Hisar range. Both Mittal and Chawla (of 1993 batch) were among the seven IPS officers whose promotion orders were issued on August 30 by the state government but were withdrawn hours later.

Besides, five IPS officers- OP Singh, Ajay Singhal and Raghbir Singh (1992 batch) and Rajpal Singh and PS Ranga (1993 batch) were also promoted on Friday.
After promotion, OP Singh stays as director, sports while Ajay Singhal has been re-designated as IG, State Vigilance Bureau, Raghbir Singh as IG, SCRB, Rajpal Singh as IG, crime, and PS Ranga as IG, training.

Haryana Police Academy (HPA) director Sudhir Chowdhary has been posted as IG, southern range. He will replace KK Sharma who has been shifted to telecom.
IG, CPT&R, Bhondsi, BK Sinha has been posted as IG, IRB, Bhondsi while IG, Administration, PR Deo goes as IG, RTC, Bhondsi.

IG, Railways and Commando KK Mishra has been posted as IG, State Vigilance Bureau. IG, Law and Order-II, Mohammad Akil has been given the additional charge of Director, HPA.
