Actor Deepika Padukone is so impressed by the script of director Zoya Akhtar’s next, that she is willing to move behind the camera and take up a nonacting job just to get a chance to be on the sets of the film. “I love the script so much that I am ready to work in any capacity on the film, including an assistant director (AD),” confesses the 28-year-old, but is quick to add, “But I don’t know if I can manage that (working as an AD).”

Interestingly, actors Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Sonam Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, have all worked as ADs on other stars’ films before they turned actors themselves.

The film, which is about a dysfunctional Punjabi family that goes on a luxury cruise together, stars Deepika’s alleged love interest, Ranveer Singh, besides Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor. Asked if Deepika has made her desire known to Zoya, Dippy says, “Not really … I’ve met her, but not talked about it (getting associated with the film),” says the actor.

Zoya could not be reached for comment.
