Rain brings winter chill to Delhi
Nearly five hundred seats are yet to be filled up for the engineering courses offered by UIET, PEC University of Technology among others for which Joint Admission Committee (JAC) had conducted admissions this year.With the completion of three rounds of counseling, JAC carried out the physical verification of documents on August 2 and August 3. Those whose admissions have been confirmed have been asked to report to their respective institutes on Monday. JAC will hold a spot admission round on August 14.“It stated that candidates who were already registered and had been not allotted any seat till the third round should deposit a sum of ` 40,000 online between August 11August 13,2014. They will have also to fill up fresh choices in various participating institutes. The fourth round of onthe-spot counselling will be declared on August 14, 2014 and candidates will be expected to report for physical verification on August 16, 2014 at Gymnasium Hall of Panjab University, Chandigarh, from 9.00 am onwards,” the JAC stated. Officials said 94 students had been admitted so far for Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Panjab University; 363 for University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University and 73 for University Institute of Engineering and Technology SSG Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur.A total of 370 people opted for PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, the highest this year. As many as 185 students had opted for Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) and 29 for Chandigarh College of Architecture.
