Ram Kumar Chaudhary, the newly elected Congress MLA from Doon constituency in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, was today produced before a court in Panchkula, which extended his police remand by another two days.
Chaudhary, who was suspended by Himachal Congress earlier this week, is currently in police custody in murder case of a 24-year-old woman, Jyoti, who was found dead near Sector 21 of Panchkula town on November 22 last year.
He moved an application in the court today to take oath in Himachal assembly.
He was supposed to take oath as a legislator in the Himachal assembly in Dharamsala on January 8, but he appeared in the Panchkula court and surrendered.
Elected from the Doon assembly seat, he was absconding ever since his name figured in the murder of his former employee, Jyoti.
