Dramas staged on road safety, water conservation

More than 400 selected actors from different schools of tricity performed 100 dramas to drive home the point of road safety, water conservation and health care at Open Air Theatre of Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16.

These performances are also being broadcast on All India Radio's 107.2 FM on every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.45 am to 10 am every Friday and Saturday from 7.45 pm to 8 pm.

These students earlier wrote and recorded their radio dramas in IRJ Studio. The IRJ team also trained them during various workshops. Jasbir Bawa, former media manager from the Punjab health directorate, Karan Bir Shah and SP Singh, director, IRJ, were the judges.

All good dramas and best actors will be awarded during a ceremony at MRA auditorium, Sector 27, Chandigarh, on December 2. Students depicted various aspects of road safety, including wrong parking, honking even in slow traffic, wearing seat belts, maintenance of vehicles before driving, etc. The performances also depicted themes like rainwater harvesting, malaria, self-medication, etc.
