The issue was raised by minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur, the Congress candidate from Patiala, on March 13, and by Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa, Congress candidate f rom Gurdaspur, on March 14.

Additional CEO Raminder Singh told mediapersons on Thursday that the food and civil supplies secretary had submitted the report that no new cards had been distributed after March 5 and six-month ration was distributed as per the national food security act to the existing card holders. “We agree with the report, which has been sent to the Election Commission,” said Raminder Singh.

According to the reply, the parts of the bicycles yet to be assembled were being kept in various schools in the stores and no assembled bicycles were being distributed.
