The Election Commission of India has approved several cases which were held back earlier due to the Model Code of Conduct during the assembly elections.
A spokesperson of the chief electoral officer Punjab on Monday said that, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has given its nod to the Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Ludhiana to fill vacant posts funded by agencies, in various categories including administrative, non-teaching, teaching and research.
The ECI has also given its approval to the subordinate service selection board to start the recruitment and counselling process.
The commission also allowed extension to workers recruited under the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY). PAU was given the permission to fill 529 vacancies, which were taken out of the purview of the PPSC and SSS board, through a written test conducted by the varsity.
The board approved the appointments of twenty-five ex-servicemen at various posts in Punjab State Ex-Servicemen Corporation.
