The UT education department on Friday announced common merit list for admission to Class 11 for all streams. A spokesman stated that the list had details of all the eligible candidates who have applied for admissions.
As many as 15,300 students have applied for 12,500 seats in various government schools in the city. In case of objections, students could approach grievances redressal cell at Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 16 and Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 19 up to 2 pm till Saturday.
The list announcing allotment of schools and streams would be uploaded on chdeducation.gov.in on July 1 at 11 am. Following this, two days time would be given for submission of fees. Schools would reopen July 4. The department is likely to hold second round of counselling in the second week of July. The department stated that the merit list had been prepared in the order of CGPA secured.
“In case of a tie, it will be settled at the time of allotment of school / stream,” a department spokesman said, adding that a streamwise merit list (before tie creak) had also been prepared on the basis of choices made by the candidate.
“However the actual position may change at the time of allotment of school and stream,” he said.The list contains 305 students with a perfect CGPA 10.
City schools have nearly 6,000 for the humanities, 1,800 seats each for commerce and vocational courses and 3,000 for the science stream.
