Shaleen Malhotra, the new boy in the television industry, says, "Whenever I want to unwind from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, I head to Chandigarh to catch up with relatives and friends."
Currently busy shooting for his debut show, Arjun, an investigative series to be telecast on Star Plus starting from August 11, Shaleen looks forward to a small window of break from the shoot to come to town and resume his 'gheris' of City Beautiful on his bike.
Not just the city, this upcoming actor also often vrooms his way to Leh, Ladakh and other places of difficult terrain, on his bike. That explains his participation in Roadies Season-4, in 2006. Since then, Arjun has been associated with the channel, MTV - he was an on-ground VJ for four years and elevated to on-air VJ this year.
"My entry into the glamour world did not happen by fluke. I always wanted to become an actor. Though I have played cricket for Delhi's Under-19 team, and was pretty good at that, Mumbai was my calling," avers Shaleen. His training in martial arts and kickboxing will stand him in good stead in his quest for stardom, he adds.
Recollecting his time spent in Chandigarh, Shaleen says, "I love Chandigarh for its wide and clean roads. Not to forget the delicacies it has to offer, such as 'keema naan' at Pic 'n' Move in Sector 8, Chandigarh, and the chicken at Sector 26's Pal Dhaba, that are my favourites."
The actor harbours a unique dream of hosting the biggest-ever reality show of the world, and draws inspiration from the extraordinary lives of men and women (Shaleen is an avid reader of autobiographies). This also makes him confident of converting his dream into reality.
