The police have arrested a Pinjore resident, Kulwinder Singh, 22, in Kalka on the charges of molestation and stalking. He was produced before a Kalka court on Tuesday, which sent him in judicial custody.
Singh, an engineer working with a telecom company in Chandigarh, would come in his Verna car and had been stalking two minor sisters for the past some days.
On Monday, while passing lewd comments he held the hand of one of the girls. The sisters were going to a computer centre in Pinjore when the incident took place.
"We arrested the youth after receiving a complaint. A case under Sections 354-A (for making physical contact), 354-D (for stalking), 294 (for using obscene words) and 509 (for using words intended to outrage modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered," said SHO, Kalka police station, inspector Dalip Singh.
In the court, the accused moved a bail application but public prosecutor Kapil Gaud insisted that a notice be issued first. The notice was issued for April 29.
