Enquiry centre for PU rose festival inaugurated

The one-stop centre for all the enquiries related to the 6th Panjab University (PU) Rose Festival that would be held from February 6 to 8 was inaugurated by PU registrar Col GS Chadha (Retd) on Wednesday.

The one-stop centre for all the enquiries related to the 6th Panjab University (PU) Rose Festival that would be held from February 6 to 8 was inaugurated by PU registrar Col GS Chadha (Retd) on Wednesday.

The schedule and various competitions to be organised during the three-day event were also released on the occasion.

The release revealed that the festival would be inaugurated by PU vice-chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover on February 6.

It will have a flower competition, a fashion show by PU department of fashion and lifestyle technology, and a performance by the rock band from 7 pm onwards on the first day.

Competitions such as singing, rose quiz, rangoli, collage making and slogan writing for school, college and university students as well as the general public, would be conducted on the second day, which will also have a laughter show and an enactment by PU department of Indian theatre.
On the third day, activities such as poetic recitation, painting, rose prince/princess, dancing, 'mehendi', face painting and fancy dress would be held.

“With the inauguration of the 6th Panjab University Rose Festival, forms of the various competitions have been made available at the festival centre at a single-window enquiry near the post office, PU. Entries for all competitions except photography competition will be accepted till 5 pm a day before the competition,” said PU divisional engineer Anil Thakur.
