Five eunuchs were injured after acid was thrown on them at Sector 10 on Monday following a verbal spat.

The incident occured after a heated argument took place over each other’s turfs among two group of eunuchs. Following this, the groups attacked each other and acid was thrown on five eunuchs.

The victims have been identified as Shabbo, Anisha, Mehak, Madhu and Sunil. They were admitted to the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, and their condition is stated to be stable. The victims did not get any serious injury as the acid was dilute and less in quantity.

A group of eunuchs were roaming in the residential colonies in Sector 10 asking for money, when three-four eunuchs with faces covered came and intercepted them on the road dividing Sector 10 and 11.

The miscreants first threw red chilli powder and then threw acid at the victims.

They also broke the windowpanes of the vehicle in which they were sitting, before escaping from the spot.

One of the victim’s, Shabbo, said he identified two accused as Rani and Anchal. “Both are eunuchs from Manimajra and were carrying goons with them to attack us.”

Head of the eunuchs, Sunil, said, there had been a tiff as the eunuchs moving about in Manimjara had started moving in their area. Due to their regular interference, there was a clash between the two groups on Sunday, which was settled later.

Police officials confirmed the same. The statements have been recorded and investigations are on.
