To generate awareness on the ongoing Ebola Virus Disease outbreak, the department of microbiology of Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh, will organise a screening of the movie 'Outbreak' for undergraduate and postgraduate students on Saturday.

The screening will held between 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the auditorium in the Sarai Building of the college.
The 1995 movie narrates the story of a virus claiming the lives of several people in the Motaba River Valley, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo) in 1967.

The virus, named Motaba, causes severe bleeding and liquefies internal body organs, eventually killing victims within three days after they had contracted the disease. The virus wipes out the entire Valley. To prevent the spread of the disease to other parts of the country and the world, a huge firebomb is dropped onto the Valley.
