Bollywood movie Grand Masti, which is scheduled for release on September 13, has come under scanner of the Punjab and Haryana high court for allegedly containing vulgar and obscene content besides scenes that degrade women.

The movie starring Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Manjari Fadnis is a sequel of the film, Masti, which was released in 2004.

The petition filed by advocate Dinesh Chadha was listed for hearing before justice Rameshwar Singh Malik but since he did not hold the court on Saturday, the same came up for hearing before the court headed by justice Rakesh Kumar Jain. However, justice Jain ordered to list the petition before the regular court on Monday.

The petitioner has sought directions to the Central Board of Film Certification to reconsider the certificate of exhibition granted to the movie and to stay the film's release.

Chadha has submitted that the board had violated provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, by issuing the certificate on June 14 as the contents of the film were full of indecency and immorality.
