The UT police on Saturday uploaded just one copy of the first information report (FIR) on day one of launching the facility of providing FIR copies on its official website.
A senior official, however, stated that only one FIR was uploaded for testing the software, which worked fine.
He said after the Punjab and Haryana high court orders they have to upload the FIR on the website within 24 hours of lodging it, copies of which would be available the next day.
The FIR would be uploaded on its website unless it is of sensitive nature within 24 hours of lodging it.
The FIR uploaded on the website on June 1 was that of Sector 36 police station.
The directions also stated that the decision to upload the FIR on the website would be taken by the officer not below the rank of DSP. In case, where it is decided not to provide the FIR copy on the ground of being sensitive, the accused himself or through his representative can file the application before the court, to which the FIR has been sent and the same shall be provided within three days.
DSP (south) Surjit Mailk said they have started the process and it would take some time for streamlining it.
