Five Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing workers were injured in a group clash between party workers and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) workers on Sunday evening at Beed Ghaggar, an area under the Panchkula assembly constituency.
Those injured include, Rakesh, Amit, Sumit and Rahul, who were rushed to a general hospital in Sector 6, after the incident. Police said the clash erupted over the pasting of election posters.
According to officials, some BJP workers were pasting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s posters in Beed Ghaggar when some INLD workers came and threatened removal of the posters.
After some time, both sides clashed, resulting in five BJP workers sustained head and other injuries. Chandimandir SHO Arvind Kumar said no arrests had been made.
Meanwhile, in another election related development, the Chandi-mandir police seized 44 liquor bottles from two dhabas in Barwala and Ramgarh.
