Flood alert sounded in Kashmir Valley

Flood alert has been sounded in Kashmir Valley as the water level crossed the orange level in Srinagar and south Kashmir gauges. The water level at Jhelum river crossed 16 feet at the Ram Munshibagh gauge at 10 PM, against danger mark of 18 feet, while at Sangam it has crossed 18 feet against danger mark of 23 feet. The authorities have raised alarm level to orange, which signals flood alert.
