To make proper utilisation of wood, forest corporation will supply quality furniture to government departments in coming days, said forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri in Kullu on Sunday.
He inspected the furniture workshop and showroom of forest department and forest corporation at Shamshi in Kullu district and directed the officers to manufacture quality furniture at reasonable rate so that it could compete in the market.
Earlier, he visited Banjar area in Kullu district and listen to public grievances and directed the concerned officers to address their issues.
He asked the corporation officials to develop more facilities at Narkanda and Jalori nature camps so that more tourists could visit these places.
He assured the people of Jalori that their demand for construction of Jalori-Suolsar road would be considered on priority.
Kullu MLA Maheshwar Singh raised the issue of rights of the stakeholders and sheep-rearers of Great Himalayan National Park with forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri in Kullu.
Later, he presided over the function organised by the Kullu Hoteliers Association.
On the occasion, vice-chairman of state forest corporation Kewal Singh Pathania, and other officials of forest department and corporation were present with him.
