chandigarh Updated: Aug 11, 2014 20:34 IST

The forms for the third round of counselling for admission to Class 11 in government schools will be available from Wednesday.

Both new as well as existing candidates can apply for the third and the last round of counselling. Those seeking change in stream or school need to fill up change in stream/school form and submit the same at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10, GMSSS-20, GMSSS-28, GMSSS-37, GMSSS-46 and GMSSS in Manimajra.

Those who are applying for the first time, will be required to fill up a new registration form, which will be available in these schools.

The last date for submitting the forms is August 14 (see box). The cut off for the vacant seats in schools is expected to remain high because of limited number of seats.

Most of the seats in leading schools in the city have already been filled up, although a few seats are still vacant in the reserved category. According to officials, these seats will be allotted to general category students in case the response is not adequate from those applying under reserved category.

Overall nearly 2,000 seats are vacant, mainly in government schools in rural areas, which will be allotted during the last round of counseling.

The list indicating the cut-off and allotment of seats will be put up on August 22 which will be followed by submission of fee in a school allotted during the admission process till August 25.
