FOSWAC takes up infrastructure issues with home minister

The Federation of Sector Welfare Associations Chandigarh (FOSWAC), an umbrella organisation of 60 Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), has raised infrastructure issues with union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and sought time to discuss them with him.

The Federation of Sector Welfare Associations Chandigarh (FOSWAC), an umbrella organisation of 60 Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), has raised infrastructure issues with union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and sought time to discuss them with him.

PC Sanghi, chairman, FOSWAC, said that the issues, which needed to be discussed included improvement of civic amenities such as roads, drainage system, streetlights, parks, markets, bus-queue-shelters, primary health centres in southern sectors, relaxation in building by-laws and regularisation of need-based changes in housing board dwelling units, early start of metro rail project, non-implementation of Right to Service Act and amended Rent Control Act and non-implementation of guidelines for regulating the functioning of paying guest accommodations in residential buildings.
