Gaurav, Meera and Pawandeep gear up for Special Olympics

Gaurav, a student of SOREM-36, will be part of the Indian roller skating team in the World Summer Games which are scheduled to be held at Los Angles in USA from July 24 to August 5.

Gaurav, a student of SOREM-36, will be part of the Indian roller skating team in the World Summer Games which are scheduled to be held at Los Angles in USA from July 24 to August 5.

Gaurav will be accompanied by skating coach Jaswinder Singh Goldy, who has been nominated as head coach of the Special Olympics Bharat Roller Skating team.

Gaurav has won several medals at national championship.

Jaswinder is working as advocate general in Punjab and is skating coach at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh.

Apart from Gaurav, cyclist Meera Kumari and cager Pawandeep Singh, both students of Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (MVK), have been selected for the Special Olympics. The trio will be part of 300 Indian players leaving on July 20 for the participation.

Meera is not only a skilled state level cyclist, but has also won various accolades for her singing, while Pawandeep Singh has played for various state level tournaments and has been associated with MVK for the past seven years.
